Chantal is an intellectual property disputes lawyer with experience advising across the spectrum of IP rights, including patents, trade marks, copyright, plant breeder’s rights and trade secrets/confidential information.

With a science degree specialising in molecular biology and biochemistry, Chantal’s practice focuses particularly on complex, high-value, multi-jurisdictional patent infringement and revocation proceedings for clients in the life sciences sectors.  She has assisted global and local companies in fields such as pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals (small molecules and biologics/biosimilars), gene-editing technologies (eg. CRISPR), biotechnology, medical devices and medical technology, food technology, agricultural technology, manufacturing, engineering and renewable energy.

Chantal is experienced in IP litigation at both trial and appellate levels, in the Federal and High Courts of Australia and in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.  She has successfully acted in preliminary discovery, urgent interlocutory injunction, Norwich Pharmacal (document/information disclosure) and search and seizure (Anton Piller) applications and in disputes in the Australian Patents and Trade Marks Offices.

Chantal is recognised as a Rising Star in IP by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2021-2024).  She has previously worked for international and top tier law firms in Australia and the United Kingdom and has in-house experience in the food and medical diagnostic industries and in managing anti-piracy litigation for the music industry.

Chantal is a member of the Law Society of NSW, the International Association for the Protection of intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and ChIPs (connecting women in technology, law and policy).
