Amanda Griffiths

Amanda is an award winning, highly experienced trade mark specialist (lawyer and attorney) with a reputation for providing clear and practical advice, supporting clients to unlock the commercial potential of brand assets.

With nearly 25 years’ experience, Amanda has worked with clients across all industries, including technology, manufacturing, retail, marine, finance, life sciences and healthcare.  She has a particular interest in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and has collaborated with a range of clients, from start-ups to large multinational corporations.  Amanda advises on every stage of the trade mark life cycle – from clearance and registration to enforcement and portfolio management.

Throughout her career, Amanda has worked at a number of top-tier IP firms in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  Most recently, she was Head of Trade Marks at a large New Zealand firm, where she led a team of over 50 trade mark specialists and was responsible for the strategic direction of the team.  This leadership role gave her valuable insights into some of the challenges and opportunities faced by her own clients.

Amanda is recognised as a leading lawyer and trade mark specialist by several notable publications including MIP IP Star, Best Lawyers, Legal 500 among others others .  She was included in the New Zealand Lawyers Elite Women List in 2021 for “making great strides in shaping a new future for the legal sector.”
